Oakland City, IN - The Oakland City University Development Office, under the direction of Todd Mosby, Associate Vice President for Development, Marketing, and Communications, has launched the "
Help Build a Legacy" athletic giving campaign. This campaign will seek to increase funding for three athletic development projects currently in the planning and building stages.
First, the Matthew and Lindsey Konkler Baseball Stadium is already under construction, with completion expected sometime over the summer. Featuring a lighted field for the first time in OCU athletic history, the state of the art baseball facility will be home to the Mighty Oaks baseball team, as well as a destination for numerous youth, high school, summer league, and other events throughout the years to come.
The Drs. Donald and Mary Ann Wilder Tennis Complex is also already under construction, and is expected to be completed before the fall tennis season begins. This new tennis complex will have six collegiate level tennis courts, lights, multiple fan seating areas, and enhanced parking, and will be a significant upgrade to the current OCU tennis facilities.
Finally, the bleachers in the Johnson Center, OCU's main gym, will be undergoing a complete rebuild, with new seating designed for an improved fan experience. Safety features will be added, as well as overall fan comfort. With remodeled locker rooms already completed, additional conference and OCU branding in place, the improved bleachers will help to bring the Johnson Center into being one of the premier venues in the River States Conference.
