The Lady Oaks faced the St. Mary of the Woods College Pomeroys on Wednesday, September 19. The game began with a lightning delay and ended in the sweltering heat at the St. Mary of the Woods complex.
Despite the amount of shots on goal from the Pomeroys, Oakland City goalie
Jillian Beem, stood her ground and achieved a shut-out in the game, saving six shots, including a penalty kick in the final minute of the contest.
Both teams fought a tough battle and the first half ended with the score level at 0-0. It wasn't until there was only 3:50 left on the clock that the first goal of the game was scored. First-year forward

With less than four minutes remaining in the game and the Lady Oaks with the only goal, the intensity level rose. With seven seconds left on the clock, a penalty kick was issued to the Pomeroys but was saved by goalie
Jillian Beem and the Lady Oaks came out with the victory.
OCU will return to action on Tuesday, September 25, when they travel to take on IU-East. Game time is set for 6:30 pm.
