Oakland City, IN - The Oakland City University women's soccer team finished the 2019 season with a record of 4-9-2. The Mighty Oaks picked up wins against Brescia University (3-1), Lincoln Christian University (5-0), Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (1-0), and Johnson University (2-1).
Sophomore
Maddison Davis led the Oaks in both categories of goals, scoring four, and assists, with three. Junior
Aireana Grimes was second in goals with three. Grimes tied Junior
Becca Rutherford with two assists apiece.
The Mighty Oaks are set to return 13 players from this year's roster. Five seniors will be graduating, including
Hannah Devine,
Breanna Cundiff,
Madison Bleska,
Kylee Miller and
Aubree Miller. Each senior has seen significant minutes over their time in the blue and white, with each anchoring starting positions over the last few years.
With their top two scorers returning, and a strong recruiting class, the Oaks and head coach
Katie Harrison are looking forward to finding some success on the field again next year.
