Greenville, SC - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) recently announced the 2019-20 Winter/Spring Scholar-Teams. To be eligible for the award, teams need a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a 4.00 scale for all combined student-athletes on the team.
There were just 23 institutions that were able to reach this threshold across all winter and spring sports, with the Oakland City University softball team leading all softball programs in the country, with their 3.80 combined GPA. Mid-America Christian University's team carried a 3.79 total, as 15 softball programs earned the prestigious award.
Among the 59 total teams earning a spot on the list, the OCU softball team ranked fourth overall. Warner University's women's tennis team took the top spot, with a 3.96 GPA, followed by Roberts Wesleyan College's women's tennis team, with a 3.93, and Southwestern Christian University, whose women's basketball team combined for a 3.83 average.
