Lady Oaks Power Past Pioneers of Campbellsville-Harrodsburg

Oakland City, IN - The Lady Oaks basketball team hosted the Pioneers of Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg in the Johnson Center, looking to take their second home game in a row. After taking a 37-14 lead into the locker room at halftime, OCU continued to dominate the contest, winning 92-38.

Emilee Hope tallied a game high 21 points, making 8-12 from the field, including a torrid 5-7 from three point range. Tabby Klem came off the bench to post 18 counters, while Malia Schmittler added 16. Taylor Dillard had a double-double, scoring 12 points and handing out a game high 13 assists, while Laurin Bentley hauled in a game best nine rebounds.

Jaiden Douthit was the only Pioneer to reach double figures, scoring 14 points, while E'moni Washington added nine points and seven rebounds, one board less than teammate Makala Smith, who nabbed eight missed shots before fouling out of the game.

As a team, OCU connected on 34-71 (47.9%) from the field, going 7-20 (35.0%) from beyond the arc. CU-Harrodsburg made 12-63 (19.0%) of their field goal tries, going 3-17 (17.6%) from three point range. The Oaks made 17-28 (60.7%) from the free throw line, compared to 11-14 (78.6%) for the visiting Pioneers.

The Oaks held a 51-44 rebounding advantage, despite trailing 19-18 on the offensive glass. OCU handed out 28 assists, while turning the ball over 11 times. The Pioneers had two assists and 25 turnovers.

Next up for the Lady Oaks is a matchup against Alice Lloyd College, in the Johnson Center, on Saturday, January 23. Tipoff is set for 1:00 pm.
