Oakland City, IN- In a pivotal match between the current 4 and 5 seeds in the western side of the conference, the Lady Oaks took a 3-0 Sweep over the Pomeroys of St. Mary of the Woods College. In a close first set, trading points back and forth with the Pomeroys, the Lady Oaks pulled to a 25-22 first set victory on a towering block by Freshman
Chloee Thomas. Thomas continued to lead the way for the Mighty Oaks in a second set comeback. The Lady Oaks trailed 19-12 in the second set before pulling ahead and winning the 3rd set 25-21. In what proved to be a dominating win for the Lady Oaks, the Student Section pulled out the broom as the sweep was completed. The third set score was 25-20.
Leading the Lady Oaks in kills was
Jazmyn Rodriquez with 10 followed by
Malia Schmittler and
Chloee Thomas with 8. Leading in assists was
Callie Foster and
Mariana Anastasiadi with 8 a piece.
Chloee Thomas lead the Oaks in Kill Percentage hitting a season best 61.5%. Thomas also led the team in blocks with 3.
The Pomeroys were led by Hannah Zuege with 15 kills followed by Alexis Woodburn with 8. The assist leader for the Pomeroys was Andrienne Roberts with 31 assists. Leading in kill percentage for the Pomeroys was Alexis Woodburn who hit 33.3%.
The Lady Oaks moved their record to 10-12 overall and 7-7 in the Conference while the Pomeroys dropped to 11-11 overall and 6-8 in River States Conference Play.
