Oakland City, IN- In the River States Conference Quarterfinals, Oakland City hosted the Red Wolves of Indiana University East in a rematch of Oct 23rd contest in which the Wolves won 1-0. At the end of this contest, it was the Mighty Oaks who prevailed with a 3-0 win.
The Oaks took a quick advantage after scoring in the 15th minute of the game. Sophomore Georgio Alberti sent in a Corner kick to find Freshman
Jorge Tallada's head for a beautiful first goal. This was Tallada's eighth goal this season. The first half ended with a 1-0 lead for the Oaks. The Oaks led in every statistic at the halftime buzzer.
As the second half got underway, the Oaks had avantage of the ball for a majority of the start before finding the back of the net twice within a 5 minute span. The 2nd goal of the game was scored by Fransisco Sousa on a breakway through ball. Sousa tapped the ball in around the keeper in the 73rd minute. Shortly after, Freshman
Connor Shields received a perfect ball across the middle of the goal from Tallada for an easy tap in goal.
The Oaks advance to play Brescia Univeristy on Wednesday at 6 PM in Owensboro, KY.
