Oakland City, IN - Taylor Dillard lit up the scoreboard to extend the Lady Oaks winning streak to three games. In a game that started with the Oaks down 7-0 in the first quarter, it only took a matter of time before the Lady Oaks were back on top.There were a total of four ties and three lead changes.
After leading a majority of the game, the Trojans brought the score back to within one before grabbing their second lead of the game before back to back buckets by
Taylor Dillard and
Jalaya Dowell. Once the Oaks regained this lead, they never looked back. The Oaks lead by 15 and stayed on top the rest of the game.
Taylor Dillard led all scorers in the contest, posting 31 points on 11-18 shooting and 4-8 on three pointers. while Redding added 6 assists. Kelm had sixteen points with four assists and four rebounds. Leading the way for the Oaks on the boards was Davinique Cambpell with 11 boards, followed by Harvey and Hope each with 5.
Kaylay Kirtley paced the Trojans, scoring 22 points on 7-10 shooting, followed by 18 points each from Deckard with 18 and James with 16. Wejtgate grabbed 9 boards to lead the Trojans in the loss.
As a team, Oakland City made 32-67 (47.8%) from the field, including 10-24 (41.7%) from three point range, while Taylor connected on 27-71 (38%) including 11-38 (28.9%) from beyond the arc. OCU scored on 21-31 (67.7%) from the foul line, compared to 18-23 (78.3%) for the visiting Trojans.
OCU held a 48-41 rebounding advantage, including a 17-16 edge on the offensive glass. The Oaks lead in second chance points with 20 and outscored the Trojans in the paint 30-18. Oakland City handed out 17 assists, two more than the Trojans, while committing 17 turnovers, one less than their opponents.
