Box Score 2 Tuesday night the Lady Oaks traveled to Owensboro to take on the Bearcats of Brescia. Game one started with Junior,
Kenzie Tooley, in the circle. Tooley pitch a solid 4 innings before being replaced by Sophomore,
Ashton Steinbrenner. Tooley's outing went 4 innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 run and struck out 3 batters. Another impressive performance from the Wood Memorial Junior had the Oaks ahead 6-1 before being replaced. The bats started off hot and stayed hot for the Lady Oaks in game one. Everyone who stepped up to the plate got on base at least one time. Multiple Oaks went 2-4 in game one, including Gantner, Deisher, Jaquess, Ghrist, and Tooley. The Lady Oaks racked up 14 hits on 33 at bats, while scoring 8 runs in the first game. The final score of the first game was 8-2.
Game two had a very similar feel to it as the hits started off strong again for the Lady Oaks. In the circle for game two stood Junior,
Samantha Johnson. In her 5 innings pitched she allowed 7 hits, and 4 runs while striking out 2. Johnson continuted to shine while batting 1-3 with a 2 RBI double. On the batting side, Ghrist stayed hot going 3-5 with 1 RBI. In a repeat from game one, every OCU batter that took the plate got on base at least one time in game two. The Mighty Oaks had 4 players with Doubles in game two including Tooley, Ward, Johnson and Jaquess. While racking up a season high 18 hits, the Lady Oaks took victory in the 7th inning after scoring seven runs in the final inning. The Lady Oaks next game is Tomorrow at Asbury.
