Men's Soccer wins in OT

Oakland City, IN - In a Saturday afternoon contest, the Mighty Oaks men's soccer team hosted the Hornets of Harris- Stowe State University. In an overtime thriller, the Oaks handled the opposition, turning a 0-0 halftime draw into a 2-1 victory.

The first half of the game was a long, hot half with no goals allowed by either team. The Hornets out-shot the Oaks in the first half 6-5. The scoring opened up in the 62nd minute when Harris-Stowe put one in the back of the net off of a rebound. As the time was ticking away, Freshman forward, Jorge Tallada headed a ball just out of the keepers reach in the 90th minute (89:08) to tie the game. Shortly after the whistle blew for the overtime period to begin, Senior Josue Dubon broke away on a through ball from Freshman Sergio Revuelta, beating everyone, Dubon tapped the ball around the keeper to seal the deal and win the game for the Mighty Oaks in the 93rd minute. 

The Mighty Oaks team will put their 1-1 record on the line in a Wednesday matchup against Thomas More University, at Aigner Field, kicking off at 1:00, following the Mighty Oaks first team, the Developmental Team will square off against Thomas More University at 3:30 PM.
