Oakland City, IN- On a cold, Thursday evening, the Lady Oaks took on the Celtics of Carlow University, in what proved to be a very one-sided game. The Lady Oaks fell behind in the first quarter by a score of 8-4, the Celtics largest lead of the game, but soon after, the Lady Oaks went on a 16-0 run to bring the score to 29-13. The first quarter ended with a score of 39-19. From then on out, it was all Lady Oaks, outscoring the Celtics 75-30 over the final three quarters. The final score of the game was 114-49.
Leading the way for the Lady Oaks with 16 points each was,
Marissa Austin and
Reanne Kietlinski. Austin was 6-12 from the field and 1-6 from three point land while Kietlinski went 6-11 from the field and 4-8 behind the arch. The oaks were lead in rebounding by
Davinique Campbell who collected 15 boards, 9 of which were offensive, Campbell was followed by
Jalaya Dowell and
Malia Schmittler each grabbing 9 missed shots.
Marissa Austin led the way for the Lady Oaks with 5 assists. The Lady Oaks had 7 players who scored double digits.
The Celtics were lead by Sydney Carr who scored 19 counters on 7-14 shooting. Following Carr was Lydon who scored 8 while also leading the team in rebounds with 4 and dishing out 6 assists.
The Lady Oaks shot 48% (41-84) from the field and 29% (7-24) from three-point land. At the free-throw line the Lady Oaks shot 25-28. Carlow Celtics were 24% (17-70) from the field, 18% (5-28) from three and ended the game at 52.6% (10-19) from the charity strike.
