Mighty Oak student-athletes Tiana Sparks and Christian Salmeron were selected as Player of the Week for men's and women's tennis in the River States Conference for the week of April 1-7. Sparks, the sophomore from Brownsburg, IN went 3-0 on the week. Chrisitan Salmeron from Adelaide, Australia won both his singles and doubles match against conference opponent Midway to go 2-0.
Sparks defeated opponents from IU Kokomo and Midway at No. 5 singles by identical scores of 6-1, 6-0 to go 2-0 in singles on the week. Sparks also took down IU Kokomo at No. 2 doubles 6-0 with partner Isabela Todorovic.
Salmeron was a key part of a 7-0 win over Midway as he stayed unbeaten in conference winning 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and 6-0 at No. 2 doubles with partner Juanes Pinto.
