Oakland City gave up an early goal just a minute into the game giving the Jaguars a 1-0 lead but that was quickly squandered at the 7' minute mark as the Mighty Oaks tied the game with a goal from freshman
Jana Mueller (assisted by Macey Wookcock). With both teams getting on the scoreboard early, the game remained in a 1-1 tie until late in the contest. After an increase on shots in the second half (13), Oakland City scored in the 86' minute to break the tie and seal its first win starting the season 1-0. Oakland City out shot the Jaguars 20 to 8 on the game with 14 on goal for OCU.
