Oakland City, Ind. — September 30, 2025
The Oakland City University women's volleyball team delivered one of its biggest wins to date Tuesday night, defeating Lindsey Wilson College — a team receiving votes in the NAIA national poll — in a five-set battle, 3–2 (22–25, 17–25, 27–25, 25–19, 15–8).
After dropping the first two sets, the Mighty Oaks rallied, claiming a tightly contested 27–25 third set to seize momentum. They maintained that energy to win the fourth set and then closed decisively in the fifth.
Eva Hamann paced the offense with 16 kills, while Libby Mehringer handed out 20 assists. On defense, De'sheonna Foster racked up five blocks, and Marlee Laycock led all OCU players with 20 digs.
Despite Lindsey Wilson's statistical edge in total kills (54 vs. 46) and blocks (17 vs. 9), Oakland City's resilience and clutch play in critical moments proved decisive.
With the win, OCU improves its record to 9-8 on the season.
Next up, the Mighty Oaks return to Johnson Center play on October 3, 2025, when they host Shawnee State University.
