Coach Dixon is in his eighth season as Coach of the Oakland City University tennis teams. Dixon hails from Plainfield, IN where he took part in the growing tennis programs there. Coach Dixon is a 2017 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana where he received a bachelor of science with a Psychology Degree. Dixon joined the Mighty Oaks staff as a part-time head Coach in the spring of 2017. This season the Mighty Oaks went 0-5 in a very short Spring season. With the first recruiting class under his belt, the Oaks quickly improved to 6-12 with a loaded schedule of big teams. In the third season as the head coach, the teams were heading in the right direction before COVID kicked in and canceled the seasons. It was in 2020-21 that Coach Dixon had his first winning season going 7-4 and 4-2 in conference play, with the men, and 5-9 and 3-5 in the conference earning a 4th place finish for both teams in the first season in conference. In 2022, the Men's team won the first RSC Conference title in OCU history, defeating IU East 4-2. At the NAIA tournament the Mighty Oaks took on Northwestern Ohio and fell 2-4. In 2023, the Mighty Oaks won the Conference title again defeating Midway 4-0. In a whirlwind of a national tournament, the Mighty Oaks upset #12 Cumberland Tennessee 4-1 and advanced to the second round, before losing to #4 Southeastern (FL) 0-4.
