The Oakland City University men's and women's swim teams will begin under the direction of Jake Alexander, the first head coach in team history.
Coach Alexander brings 15 years of experience, having coached at the age group and club swimming levels. The last eight years, he was the head coach for the Wabash Valley Swim Team (formerly the Vincennes Swim Team). As the head coach, he was able to grow the team from 20 swimmers to over 50 swimmers on the team.
Before taking over as head coach, Alexander served as an assistant coach at an age group team in Huntingburg, Indiana, as well as the Vincennes Swim Team.
"I started my swimming career at Southridge High School," stated Alexander. "Our team won the Pocket Athletic Conference meet four years in a row. I also won the 100 breast my senior season at the conference meet."
Following his graduation from Southridge HS, Alexander swam at Vincennes University, qualifying for the NJCAA National meet both years he was part of the Trailblazer swim team.
Alexander lives in Monroe City, Indiana, with his wife and two daughters.
