Logan Worthington Leads OCU to 13th Straight Win, Downing WSU-Lake

The Oakland City University men's basketball team continued their dominance in the Johnson Center, winning their 13th game in a row, topping the Lakers of Wright State University-Lake, 112-73.

Logan Worthington led the way for the Oaks, making 12-18 from the field, compiling game highs in points, with 34, and rebounds, with 20. Tyler Toopes added 24 counters to go with nine assists, while Andrew Scott, who battled foul trouble the majority of the second half, finished with 19 points. Bryant Nalley came off the bench to post 16 points and eight rebounds.

Byron Taylor was the leading scorer for the Lakers, putting up 29 points on 9-24 shooting, including 5-14 from three point range. Chaz Hardin added 10 points, while Tyrone Auzenne had five points and 12 rebounds.

For the game, OCU shot 37-65 (56.9%) from the field, including 9-23 (39.1%) from three point range. The Lakers connected on 27-77 (35.1%) of their shot attempts, going 10-36 (27.8%) from beyond the arc. The Mighty Oaks made 29-33 (87.9%) from the foul line, while Wright State-Lake made 9-15 (60.0%) from the charity stripe.

As a team, the Oaks held a 49-36 rebounding advantage, despite trailing 12-7 on the offensive glass. OCU handed out 27 assists, compared to 14 for the visitors, while each team committed 16 turnovers.

The Oaks will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to take on Simmons College of Kentucky, in a rematch of OCU's 92-63 home win on January 26. Their second meeting with the Falcons will take place on Wednesday, February 13,
tipping at 7:00 pm EST/6:00 CST.
