Oakland City, IN – In a Friday night matchup against the Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University, the Lady Oaks walked away with a big win. In three convincing sets, Oakland City was able to complete the sweep in the Johnson Center.
After a little losing streak, playing some of the top teams in the conference, the Lady Oaks were due for a victory. In a home match versus Ohio Christian, the squad of coach
Larry Hinshaw was able to clutch away with a very strong victory.
The first set was won by a convincing score of 25-9, followed by another big set win ending in a score of 25-11. The third set was a little bit of a closer score, but once the Oaks took the lead, they never gave it away, winning the set by 25-17.
With that the Lady Oaks won the match by a score of 3-0.

Chloee Thomas (5) lead the team in kills.
Mariana Anastasiadi (19),
Callie Foster (10) and
Yianmarie Catala (4) also played a big role on offence, leading the team in assists. On defence,
Malia Schmittler (3),
Desheonna Foster (3) and
Samantha Johnson (2) were solid providing several blocks. Anastasiadi (10),
Dunja Madjarevic (8) and Catala (7) lead the Lady Oaks in digs.
This win improved Oakland City's record to 4-14 overall and 4-10 in River States Conference play. The Lady Oaks have four matches left on their schedule. The next one being on October 29 at Alice Lloyd College. The next and final home match will be on November 1 at 3:00 PM versus Indiana University East.
