Pippa Passes, KY – With only four matches remaining in the season, the Mighty Oaks volleyball squad was able to come away with a road victory versus Alice Lloyd College. With this win, the Lady Oaks have a two-game winning streak going into their next home game on November 1.

On October 29, Oakland City traveled to Pippa Passes in Kentucky to play again Alice Lloyd, a team that has been struggling in River States Conference play (1-12). After a close first set, the Lady Oaks fell just short of, losing the set by 22-25.

After the deficit in the first set, the team put together a very strong second set, winning by a score of 25-10.  This set, set the tone for the rest of the match. In the third set the squad of coach Larry Hinshaw took the lead in the match as they won by 25-21.

One more set was necessary to take home the victory. Yet another convincing set resulted in a 25-16 set win and therefore a 3-1 win. With this win, the team from Oakland City improved its overall record to 5-14 and its River States Conference record to 5-10.
