Evansville, IN - On June 7, Oakland City University graduate
Chandler Dunn signed his first professional contract, joining the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League after two strong seasons as the starting shortstop for the Mighty Oaks baseball team.
Dunn lead the Oaks this past season in several offensive categories, including batting average (.354), hits (64), runs scored (46), doubles (14), triples (2), walks (27), total bases (94), and on base percentage (.451), while ranking second in games started (47), at bats (181), and runs batted in (33), while also ranking third on the team in games played (47), home runs (4), slugging percentage (.519), and hit by pitch (5).

Andy Lasher managed the Oaks to a record of 31-23 in his second year on the Oakland City sidelines, a record for number of wins in a season, where they wrapped up their campaign in the championship game of the NCCAA Mideast Regional tournament. "It is a well-deserved opportunity for Chandler," stated Lasher. "We are very proud of him and his accomplishments, and we look forward to following his progress in professional baseball."

league page) currently stand in a tie for second place in the west division with a record of 12-9, trailing only the Washington Wild Things by half a game. The Otters play their home games at historic Bosse Field, the third oldest ballpark still in regular use, trailing only Boston's Fenway Park and Chicago's Wrigley Field.
