Men's Soccer Stays Undefeated With 4-1 Win Over Brescia

Evansville, IN- In a tri-state classic, the Mighty Oaks took on the Brescia Bearcats at Goebel Field on Thursday evening. A brisk, cool, night had the Mighty Oaks start off slow.

In a game that the Mighty Oaks were surely favored to win, the Bearcats had no fear and found the back of the net in the Ninth Minute as Katai Mukuka broke free from the defense and blasted a shot to stun the Oaks. As the Mighty Oaks were playing from behind, they started to wake up, and never looked back from there. Rattling off a total of 22 shots, the Oaks were able to pass the Bearcats goalie, four times in the next 20 minutes. It started off with Marc Robertson off a ball from Ian Cowie, as Robertson tapped the ball past the keeper to level the score at 1-1. Six minutes later, it was Robertson who made the ball to OCU leading scorer Pablo Herrero. Shortly after, Herrero found the back of the net again to net his 7th goal of the season and second of the night as the Oaks took a 3-1 lead. To end the scoring, Ross O'Brien sent a rocket in off a deflection from a corner kick, putting the score at 4-1.

The Mighty Oaks dominated in multiple categories of the game, leading in Shots (22-4), and corners (10-1).

The Mighty Oaks are back on the field tomorrow to look to continue their RSC Streak against IU Columbus. Kick off is at 2:30 pm at Goebel Field in Evansville, IN.
