Mighty Oaks Men's Soccer Dominates WVU-Tech

Oakland City, IN- The Mighty Oaks took to the road to face the Bears of West Virginia-Tech University on Wednesday in a battle of River State Conference Foes. The Mighty Oaks took advantage early in the second half and never looked back, nabbing a 2-0 win. The Mighty Oaks are now 6-3-3 and 3-0-1 in conference play. They currently sit in 2nd place behind the defending champs, Rio Grande.

The match stayed tight through the halftime break where it was 0-0. Shortly after halftime the Mighty Oaks took possession and found the back of the net with a goal from Freshman Willem Hulsebosch scoring his third goal of the year in the 62nd minute of play. About 20 minutes later, senior Pablo Herrero and leading goal scorer for the Oaks put the game away in the 86th minute scoring his fifth goal of the year. The Oaks were lead in shots by Herrero with six shots in today's contest. 

The Oaks return to the pitch next Thursday Oct 17th to face near rival Brescia University with a 5 pm kick off at the Goebel Sports Complex in Evansville.
