Box Score In a high scoring game, the Oakland City baseball team fell short to the Bethel University Wildcats. On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon, the Oaks plated twelve runs, but were not able to take home the victory,
During the last game of the regular season,
Oliver Hamilton got Oakland City on the board with a solo shot in the second inning. After this early lead for the Oaks, the runs kept on coming from both sides. Hamilton ended up going 3-for-4 on the day with a single, a double and a homerun, he also collected three RBIs on the day.
Leyton Ivers got one hit on the day, but he made it count with a homerun in the sixth.
Kendric Sorgius collected two hits, which were a double and a homerun. His long ball in the bottom of the fifth drove in three runs and gave the Mighty Oaks a lead.
The lead would not last, as the Wildcats ended up scoring seventeen runs on the day. Coach Andy Lasher used seven pitchers in the game.

The final score was 12-17 in favor of the Wildcats. With this loss, the Mighty Oaks end their regular season with a 36-14 record.
Next up
On Thursday and if necessary Friday, the Mighty Oaks are hosting Alice Lloyd College in a best-of-three series to claim a spot in the River States Conference tournament. A doubleheader will take place on Thursday at noon. The if necessary game on Friday will take place at noon as well.
The River States Conference tournament is played in Chillicothe, Ohio and will start on Thursday May 2. There will be eight teams competing for two spots in the NAIA Opening Round.
