OCU Women Celebrating First Home Victory of the Season

Box Score Oakland City, IN - In the 2021-22 Oakland City University women's basketball second home game, the Oaks faced the Pomeroys of St. Mary of the Wood's College.The Mighty Oaks came out on top, with the score of 66-46, bringing their record to 1-3 on the season and 1-0 on the conference. 

Taylor Dillard led the way for OCU, scoring 15 points to go with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Reanne Kietlinski also tallied 11 counters and Emilee Hope also scored 10. Amaya Thomas and Monesjia Harvey both collected a team high of 8 rebounds a piece.

Sydney Ingram led the way for the Pomeroys with 17 points, followed by 13 points and 6 rebounds from Allyson Hardiek. Avalee Jeffers added 13 rebounds for St. Mary's. 

As a team, the Oaks made 24-71 (33.8%) of their shot attempts, including 6-19 (31.6%) from three points range. The Pomeroys connected on 16-55 (29.1%) from the field, going 3-13 (23.1%) from beyond the arc. OCU made 12-20 (60%) from the foul line, compared to 11-14 (78.6%) for the visiting St. Mary of the Woods Pomeroys. 

Oakland City held a 51-39 rebounding edge. The Oaks handed out 17 assists, compared to seven for St. Mary's. 

The Oaks will be back in action against Welch College on Friday, November 19 at 7 pm in the Johnson Center. .
