Meet Results
This past weekend the Lady Oaks track and field team competed in the River States Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, which was held at the Chieftain Center in Logan, Ohio. The ladies finished in 12th place with 13 points. Top scores of the day were Raegan Heldt and Evie Hasenour. Raegan scored 3 points in the 800m run and Evie scored 1 point in the 5k. Both Raegan and Evie scored in 4 of the 5 events they competed in, three of which were relays. About the day, Coach Sparks had this to say, "I'm very happy where everyone is right now, all the girls continued to improve and PR. The team scored more points than I had tallied up pre-meet, which is always what you want to see."
This is the women's first ever River States Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet.
In the 60m dash, Madison Nicolas finished 16th of 22 and was followed by Chloe O'Neal who finished 22nd.
In the 200m dash, Madison Nicolas improved her 200m dash time by a half a second to finish 17th of 27. Madison was again followed by Chloe O'Neal who finished 25th of 27.
In the 400m dash, Raegan Heldt was the top runner, who missed scoring by 2 spots. Raegan finished 10th of 21 in her first ever 400m. She was followed by Halley Powers and Chloe O'Neal. Halley finished in 14th spot and Chloe in 19th place.
Jolea Kennedy finished 12th of 16 in the 600m dash and was followed by Summer Moore, who finished 16th.
In the 800m run, Raegan Heldt was able to make a huge comeback after nearly falling at the start of the race. After dropping to last in her heat, she was able to pick off enough positions to finish 6th overall an improvement of 2 spots, from her original seeding. Raegan scored 3 points, the highest individual scoring position of the day. Halley Powers finished in 13th position.
Evie Hasenour was the top OCU runner in the 1000m run, finishing in 10th spot. She was followed by Jolea Kennedy who finished 12th of 13 and Summer Moore who finished 13th of 13.
For the 3000m run Ellie Hasenour finished 18th. Her sister Evie finished 8th in the 5k, scoring 1 point for the team and set a new 5k PR.
The 4x400m relay team consisted of Madison Nicolas, Halley Powers, Evie Hasenour, and Raegan Heldt. The team scored 3 points finishing 6th of 10 teams.
Evie Hasenour, Halley Powers, Ellie Hasenour, and Raegan Heldt made up the 4x800m team who scored 2 points finishing 7th overall.
For the DMR, Evie Hasenour Madison Nicolas, Ellie Hasenour, and Raegan Heldt finished 5th scoring 4 points.
The ladies will be back in action March 19th at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, for the start of the outdoor season.
