Dakyra Howard will compete at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship hosted by Dakota State University at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, S.D. February 29 - March 2nd.
The Oakland City Freshman from Homestead, FL won the triple jump event at the RIver States Conference Indoor Championships on February 17th in Logan, OH, qualifying for the NAIA National Championships. Howard won the RSC event with a school record 11.40m 37'5", the second place mark came in at 10.83m 35'7".
Howard will compete as the #22 seed in the triple jump event against 30 total qualifiers. Dakyra will compete on Saturday March 2nd at 10:00am in the first of three flights.
The top 9 performers from the prelims will advance to compete in the finals.
