Oakland City, IN-- Oakland City University senior forward
Ross O'Brien has been named the
River States Conference Offensive Player of the Week after powering the Mighty Oaks to back-to-back league victories.
O'Brien tallied three goals and two assists across two matches, leading an OCU attack that piled up 11 goals in the span of 72 hours.
On Thursday against Indiana University East, the veteran striker converted a first-half penalty and added a second-half goal in the Oaks' 5-2 win. He continued his hot streak on Saturday versus Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, burying another penalty and setting up teammates throughout a 6-1 rout.
The honor marks O'Brien's first weekly award of the season and underscores his importance to an Oakland City team now unbeaten in conference play. With his recent surge, he has emerged as one of the top scoring threats in the league.
The Mighty Oaks return to action this week looking to extend their winning streak and build on the momentum O'Brien helped spark.
