Oakland City, Ind. — For Oakland City University women's soccer standout Jana Mueller, last week was one to remember. The senior midfielder's dynamic performances helped the Mighty Oaks to back-to-back wins — a 4-0 home triumph over Indiana University East and an 11-1 rout of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College — earning her the River States Conference Player of the Week award.
Mueller's contributions were both prolific and versatile. Against IU East, she opened the scoring with a perfectly placed penalty kick in the 20th minute and later assisted on two more goals, setting up teammates Norka Fergusson and Macey Woolcock to secure the Oaks' 4-0 victory.
Two days later versus Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Mueller's playmaking continued to shine. She scored multiple goals and recorded several assists, helping lead the Oaks' high-powered attack in an 11-1 rout. Her vision and precision in the final third created opportunities for teammates across the field, showcasing her ability to control the tempo and orchestrate the offense.
"Jana is the engine of our midfield," said Coach Bladen. "She can score, she can set up goals, and she sees plays develop before anyone else does. She's a difference-maker every time she steps onto the field."
