Addison Wagler Joins 1,000 Point Club, Leads Oaks to Victory

After opening a 48-40 halftime lead, the Mighty Oaks were able to hold off a strong team from Purdue University-Northwest, winning by the score of 90-86. The game saw the score tied nine different times, while the lead changed a total of six times, in a back and forth, hard fought battle.

For the second game in a row, the Mighty Oaks had one of their players reaching the 1,000 point club, as junior Addison Wagler became the 36th member of the 1,000 point club on a layup with nine minutes to play.

Wagler finished the game with a game high 32 points, on 10-16 shooting from the field, and 12-12 from the foul line. Logan Worthington had a double-double with 21 points and a team best 11 rebounds. Andrew Scott added 20 points, while Andre Bearden chipped in with nine.

Torrance Johnson led the way for the Pride, finishing with 22 points and a game high 17 rebounds. Lukas Vilkovsky added 19 counters and nine boards, while Chandler Spring chipped in with 12. Richard Robertson tallied 11 points, while Jai Wright added 10, both off the bench.
 

For the game, OCU made 31-56 (55.4%) of their shot attempts, going 7-23 (30.4%) from beyond the arc. PNW connected on 30-68 (44.1%) of their tries, making 13-30 (43.3%) from long range. The main difference in the game was at the foul line, where the Oaks made 21-27 (77.8%), compared to 13-25 (52.0%) for the Pride.
 

The Mighty Oaks were outrebounded in the game 44-31, including a deficit of 21-7 on the offensive boards. OCU handed out 18 assists while committing six turnovers, compared to 19 assists and nine errors for PNW.
 

OCU will take their 4-1 record on the road for two exhibition games in the next week, as they travel to Ball State University on Tuesday, November 28, then to the University of Evansville on Saturday, December 2.
