Andrew Scott, junior forward from Monroe City, Indiana, and South Knox High School, entered the night needing 16 points to reach 1,000 in his OCU career, as the Mighty Oaks played host to the Griffins of Fontbonne University in the Johnson Center. Scott managed 19 points in the contest, and the Oaks were able to hold off a pesky Griffin squad, winning by the score of 102-87.
Addison Wagler posted a game high 27 points, going 11-13 from the foul line. Logan Worthington added 24 points and 10 rebounds, followed by 21 points, on 10-11 shooting, from Andre Bearden. Scott managed 19 counters, but left the game soon just four minutes after scoring his 1,000th point with an elbow injury.
Thomas Ritter led the way for the Griffins, shooting 8-14 from the field, including 5-10 from beyond the arc, scoring 21 points in the loss. Kris McCann added 15, while Luke DeLine came off the bench to post 13 counters. Tristan Baker chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, and six assists, coming off the bench.
For the game, OCU shot 40-61 (65.6%) from the field, including 5-12 (41.7%) from three point range. FU went 35-72 (48.6%) from the floor, including 13-29 (44.8%) from beyond the arc. The Oaks were 17-22 (77.3%) from the charity stripe, compared to 4-9 (44.4%) for the Griffins.
Next up for the Oaks is a Saturday matchup, at home in the Johnson Center, against Purdue University-Northwest, tipping off at 3:00 pm.
