The Mighty Oaks won their 19th straight home game, and improved to 23-2 on the season, defeating the Suns of Johnson University-Florida, 89-73.
The Oaks led 35-31 at the half, but the Suns scored the first ten points on the second period, taking a 41-35 lead. Oakland City responded, and managed to hold a pesky JU-F team at bay to advance to the semifinals of the CCNIT.
Logan Worthington posted game highs of 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Oaks, followed by 26 counters and 10 boards from Andrew Scott. Addison Wagler came up with 27 points, while Mitch Frederick came off the bench to notch three points and eight rebounds.
Kendall Oliver led the way for the Suns, scoring 18 points off the bench. Phil LeGrier struggled from the field, making just 5-20 of his shots, including 3-14 from beyond the arc, on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Jaymeke Smith also reached double figures, scoring 12.
