Mighty Oaks Win Ninth Straight Game, Topping WSU-Lake

The Mighty Oaks won their ninth straight game today, beating the Lakers of Wright State University-Lake Campus 85-66. The victory improves OCU's record to 17-2 on the season, while the Lakers fall to 10-16.
 

Logan Worthington led all scorers in the game, putting together a double-double, with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Andrew Scott added 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists, followed by Addison Wagler, who scored 22 counters, hauled in eight missed shots, and handed out six assists.
 

Isaac Clay scored team best 18 points for the Lakers, followed by 13 counters from Jordan Gorman. Quincy Green added 12 points and six rebounds, while Gorman nabbed a game high four steals. Nick Passino came off the bench to come up with eight points in the loss.
 

As a team, OCU shot 31-59 (52.5%) from the field, including 2-8 (25.0%) from three point range. WSU-Lake made 25-65 (38.5%) of their shots, knocking down 9-29 (31.0%) from beyond the arc. The Oaks made 21-28 (75.0%) of their free throw tries, compared to 7-9 (77.8%) for the visiting Lakers.
 

The Oaks held a 40-35 rebounding advantage, despite trailing 12-11 on the offensive boards. OCU handed out 15 assists, four more than the visitors, while winning the turnover battle 19-16.
 

These two teams will meet in a rematch tomorrow, in the Johnson Center, tipping off at 3:00 pm.
