The 13-2 Mighty Oaks hosted the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College, out of Paragould, Arkansas, in the Johnson Center, searching for their sixth straight victory. After leading 51-38 at the half, OCU was able to pull away late in the game, winning by the score of 108-78.
Logan Worthington came up with a game high in points, with 36, and rebounds with 13, on 12-18 shooting, including 2-3 from three point range, while making 10-11 from the foul line. Andrew Scott added 34 points, shooting 12-20, including 7-11 from long range, making all three foul shots. Addison Wagler chipped in with 19 points, making 6-12 from the field, going 7-7 from the charity stripe.
Fred Moore paced five Poineers to reach double digits, making 7-9 from the floor, on his way to a 15 point, six rebound effort. Randy Stanley also had six boards, while joining Chris Bernard with 12 counters. Braeden Williams came off the bench to tally 11, while Montrel James added 10.
As a team, OCU shot 36-64 (56.3%) from the field, including 10-21 (47.6%) from beyond the arc. CRC connected on 31-59 (52.5%) of their shot attempts, despite making just 5-16 (31.3%) from long range. The Oaks made 26-29 (89.7%) from the foul line as a team, the fifth best team shooting night in OCU history, compared to 11-20 (55.0%) for the visitors.
For the game, OCU held a 39-26 rebounding advantage, including a 10-5 edge on the offensive glass. The Oaks came up with 19 assists, six more than the Pioneers, while winning the turnover battle 20-13.
The Mighty Oaks will carry their 14-2 record into a Saturday matchup against Robert Morris University-Peoria, in the Johnson Center, tipping off at 3:00.
