The Mighty Oaks continue their winning ways, riding their frontcourt trio of juniors, in Andrew Scott, Logan Worthington, and Addison Wagler. Playing host to the Eagles of Robert Morris University-Peoria, OCU was able to turn a 44-36 halftime lead into a 100-70 victory, their seventh straight win, and 15th on the year.
Andrew Scott scored a career high 41 points, good for sixth all time in a single game, shooting 13-22 from the field, including 8-12 from three point range. Logan Worthington also had a career high, grabbing 19 rebounds in the win, while notching 23 counters. Addison Wagler posted 22 points, followed by seven points and seven assists from Joe Hinton. Scott had game highs in assists, with eight, as well as blocked shots and steals, with three each.
Reggie Davis finished the contest with 22 points to lead the Eagles. Jamor Stewart added 15 counters while grabbing eight boards, followed by 10 points and nine rebounds for Travis Morgan. Justin Robinson also had 10 points, while Dajuan Patterson led the team with 10 rebounds.
For the game, OCU made 33-63 (52.4%) of their shot attempts, going 9-17 (52.9%) from beyond the arc. RMU-Peoria connected on 28-73 (38.4%) from the field, making 6-25 (24.0%) from long range. The Oaks went 25-35 (71.4%) from the foul line, compared to 8-17 (47.1%) for the visitors.
As a team, the Oaks were outrebounded 48-37 in the contest, including a deficit of 18-5 on the offensive glass. OCU handed out 22 assists, compared to nine for the visitors, while winning the turnover battle 13-6.
OCU will return to action on February 3, in the Johnson Center, as they host the Eagles of Robert Morris University-Springfield. Game time is slated for 3:00 pm.
