Trio of Double-Double Efforts Gives OCU 11th Straight Win

Winners of their last ten games, the Mighty Oaks hosted the Eagles of Robert Morris University-Peoria in a rematch of their January 27 matchup, which OCU won 100-70. After leading 53-34 at the halftime break, the Oakland City University men's basketball team cruised to a 90-67 victory, improving to 19-2 on the year.
 

Addison Wagler led all scorers in the game, scoring 29 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds. Logan Worthington had a double-double as well, posting 23 points while hauling in 12 missed shots. Andrew Scott also reached double digits in both categories, with 19 points and 11 boards. Beau Hefner chipped in with 14 points, his second best total on the season. Scott handed out a game high seven assists, while Hefner came up with three steals.
 

Travis Morgan paced the Eagles, scoring 27 points to go with a game high 16 rebounds. Jamor Stewart tallied 14 counters, matched by Justin Robinson, while Tyraze Turner had five assists in the loss.
 

As a team, OCU shot 35-67 (52.2%) from the field, including 4-15 (26.7%) from three point range. RMU-Peoria connected on 27-83 (32.5%) of their shot attempts, making 6-27 (22.2%) from beyond the arc. The Oaks went 16-19 (84.2%) from the foul line, compared to 7-12 (58.3%) for the Eagles.
 

For the game, the Mighty Oaks held a 49-42 rebounding edge, despite trailing 20-11 on the offensive glass. OCU handed out 18 assists, six more than the visitors, while losing the turnover battle 13-11.
 

The Mighty Oaks will return to action tomorrow, in a makeup game against the Soldiers of St. Louis Christian College, in the Johnson Center. Game time is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 pm.
