OCU Women's Soccer Dominates St. Mary of the Woods College

Box Score Oakland City, IN – Oakland City University women's soccer claimed victory at home beating St. Mary of the Woods College by a score of 2-0 at Aigner Field.The Lady Oaks now hold a record of 3-8-1, while St. Mary's falls to 2-6 on the year.
 
The match was all knotted up at halftime, after the Oaks had eight shots, with three on goal, but were unable to find the net, outshooting the Pomeroys in the first half 8-1. 

OCU Freshman striker Alana Doherty got the Oaks on the scoreboard in the 57th minute when a corner kick got deflected around in the box before finally finding the back of the net for Doherty. She posted her first tally of the spring season off a corner kick by Senior defender Maggie Hendricks at 56:24.
 
The Oaks struck again just over ten minutes later, when Doherty stole the ball from a Pomeroys defender and quickly placed the ball in the back of the net, scoring the final goal of the game in the 68th minute. 
  
The Oaks, statistically, controlled the match, outshooting the Pomeroys, 20-1 , and sporting the advantage in corner kicks, 9-2.
