Oakland City, Indiana -- Oakland City (Ind.) University freshman Claudia Melgar had 13 points in two games to claim River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 6-12.
A midfielder, Melgar had five goals and three assists in the 2-0 week for the Mighty Oaks. Oakland City brought home wins of 20-1 over Lincoln Christian and 5-3 over Berea (Ky.). Melgar had two goals and three assists in the opener. She wasn't done there as she followed up with a hat trick to push the Mighthy Oaks to another win.
This is the first Player of the Week for the Mighty Oaks for the year.
