Hanover, IN - The men and women of Oakland City University Cross Country traveled to Hanover, Indiana for the Hanover College Invitational on September 14th, 2024.
The women were led by Freshman
Olivia Seaton for the 5k race. This was her second race in an Oakland City jersey. She was able to run 1 minute 52 seconds faster than she did two weeks ago at the Brescia Opener with her 26:43 (55th). Olivia was followed by
Jolea Kennedy in 28:17 (62nd),
Berlyn Ingle in 28:50 (63rd),
Sydnee Sullivan in 29:45 (66th), and
Chloe O'Neal in 33:33 (68th) out of 69 runners. They placed 7
th out of 7 teams.
"I was very impressed with how Olivia ran her race," stated Coach
Blake Guillozet. "We talked about race plans earlier this week and she executed them. She went throughout the whole race passing people without getting passed once."
The Mighty Oaks Cross Country program will return to action on Saturday, October 5
th at the Louisville Classic.
