Meet Results
Sewanee, TN - The Mighty Oaks track & field teams competed at the Mountain Laurel Invitational, hosted by Sewanee: The University of the South, in Sewanee, Tennessee. Both the men's and women's teams had strong showings in their final regular season meet of the season.
Raegan Heldt ran a personal best in the 800m race, winning the event by over five seconds in a time of 2:24:19, and qualifying for the NCCAA National Meet.
Halley Powers took first place in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 13:49.72, while the 4x800m relay team of Ellie Hasenour, Evie Hasenour, Heldt, and Powers also won their event in a time of 12:42.83. The same four finished second in the 4x400m relay in 5:10.13, while
Chloe O'Neal came in fourth in the 200m with a time of 33.99. Powers took fifth in the 400m final, crossing the line in 1:14.89, while also taking fifth was
Pamela Barbosa, who ran the 3000m final in 13:49.57.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Mason Britt,
Cooper Clark,
Ronald Kiprono, and
Justin DeFur finished second in 3:48.98, while DeFur took third in the high jump, clearing 1.70m on his second attempt. Pascal Froeschl ran the 100m event in 12.03, good for fourth place, while Clark finished eighth in both the 400m, in 54.48, and the 200m, in 24.68.
