Hanover, IN - The men and women of Oakland City University Cross Country traveled to Hanover, Indiana, for the Hanover College Invitational on September 14th, 2024.
The men had a great showing as a team in their 6k race. They placed 6
th out of 8 teams. Top-15 individual finishers were awarded a t-shirt and recognized at the post-race award ceremony. Freshman
Logan Smith finished in 14
th with a time of 21:18, right ahead of Freshman
Emerick Randolph just inches behind in 15
th (21:19). They were followed by
Eli Mayes in 22:08 (27th),
Pierce Lashley in 22:58 (39th), and Ammon Smith in 23:45 (47th) to round out the team score.
"The men went out and competed as a whole today," said OCU head coach
Blake Guillozet. "I was very pleased with the efforts out of all eight individuals. Logan and Emerick worked together to secure a top 15 finish, and it was very exciting to see. I keep harping to this team that big things are going to happen, and this is just the start of that. We just need to keep piecing things together."
The Mighty Oaks Cross Country program will return to action on Saturday, October 5
th at the Louisville Classic.
