Women's Soccer Opens Preseason with Strong Performances

The Mighty Oaks women's soccer program kicked off preseason play with two commanding victories, showcasing attacking depth and a strong collective performance as they prepare for the upcoming season.

On Friday, August 15, the squad rolled to a 6-0 win over Wabash Valley Community College at Goebel Field. The attack was firing on all cylinders, with goals coming from Macey Woolcock (2), Roldan, Thuillier, Brogan, and Bedin. The team controlled the tempo throughout the match, keeping the ball for long stretches and creating numerous scoring opportunities.

The group followed up with another impressive showing on Tuesday, August 19, earning a 3-0 road victory at Kentucky Wesleyan under the lights. Woolcock continued her scoring form, netting all three goals to complete an early-season hat trick. Once again, the Mighty Oaks midfield dictated play, moving the ball with confidence and keeping the Panthers pinned in their own half for much of the night.

Head coach Jamie Bladen praised the team's start to the campaign:
"Positive preseason with two solid team performances. Everyone played good minutes across the two games and the depth of the squad is something we'll need as we progress through the season. We have a decent base to develop from now and we're looking forward to the big challenges we have in our non-conference schedule."

The opening matches highlighted the balance of the roster, with newcomers settling in quickly to the team's style of play and veterans setting the tone in possession. With confidence building and momentum on their side, the Mighty Oaks will now turn their focus to a challenging non-conference slate with Lindsey Wilson and Taylor University up next.
