Athlete, administrator, director and athletic representative are all words that describe Ron Malin’s years at OCU.

However, when speaking to anyone about Ron, two facts quickly emerge; Ron was always student-focused and a true friend.

He played two years of tennis at then Oakland City College, including going unbeaten 17 matches in one season, graduating in 1972.

As a staff member, Malin held many responsibilities at OCU, including Dean of Students, Director of Intramural sports, dorm parent and faculty member. He was dedicated to assisting students develop into individuals who continue to make a difference in the world.

Ron passed away in 2000 at the age of 58. He left a strong legacy of children and grandchildren, many of whom also graduated from Oakland City University.
